Sample OEM applications:
Project 1: Water truck
Requirements: By operator command, control water pump RPM by stroking a Sundstrand closed loop variable displacement pump mounted of the PTO of the truck transmission. System must maintain constant RPM while the vehicle is in motion. System must withstand sever vibration and mechanical shock.

Solution: PLC-32 configured with one HIGH SPEED COUNTER for RPM feedback, one PWM output for pump control, three OPTO-ISOLATED INPUTS for system ON/OFF – RPM control, and an RPM display. The controller is programmed with a variable speed RPM PID Loop with pulse pickup failure detection to prevent a runaway condition.

Project 2: Sawmill auto-setworks system
Requirements: Control linear position of a sawmill head to 
+/-0.002inch accuracy, using a hydraulic cylinder, BOSCH dual coil proportional valve, and an (MTS Temposonics)TM  measuring sensor.  System must withstand severe vibration, mechanical shock and moisture.
  
Solution: PLC-32 configured with one 0-10v ANALOG INPUT for position feedback, two PWM outputs for BOSCH valve control, one FIVE AMP RELAY OUTPUT for hydraulic power unit control, and a 20x4 OPERATOR INTERFACE DISPLAY with 20 key KEYPAD for programming setpoints and monitoring head position. The controller is programmed with a LINEAR PID Loop with programmable speed control and 12 user setpoints programmable via the operator interface.

   motors up to five amps. This
   includes devices like DC and
   Stepper motors, Hydraulic
   Proportional and Servo valves, and
   electric linear actuators. Basically
   any device requiring varying
   current or voltage.

• Eight on board relays can each
   carry five amps of current.

• Eight optically isolated inputs can
   be configured for AC/DC voltages
   from 2-240volts.

• Four analog inputs and outputs are
   standard for precise process
   measurement and feedback.      
   (0-10VDC / 0-20mA)

• Four HIGH-SPEED optically
   isolated counter inputs are standard
   for RPM/Counting applications.

• Operator interface expansion,
   RS-232/485 and CAN bus
   network are also included.

• Bare control card or multiple
   enclosures / conformal coated
   systems are available.


     The PLC-32 is a rugged, industry hardened, programmable logic controller designed for applications where severe mechanical shock and vibration are an issue.
     PLC-32 is designed as one card with most of the I/O integrated in a single computer chip. This allows for a much smaller design, significantly faster processing time, and greater immunity to severe vibration.
     The controller can also be conformal coated or encased in epoxy for wet or submerged applications. We can supply several enclosure types, from extruded aluminum to NEMA4X to explosion proof, depending upon your application.
     PLC-32 is also a completely configurable system for OEM applications, meaning, if you only need a certain number of components, that’s all we will manufacture on YOUR PLC-32, saving you the cost of unnecessary electronics and making your product more cost effective.
     To complement the PLC-32 we also offer several Operator Interface solutions, from one-line displays up to PC-HMI software systems.
